Center for Hope & Safety, Women & Children's Shelter

New Jersey

Mira Vanjari

Why we chose her:

Domestic violence could be happening in your neighborhood.  We wanted to provide you with access to help yourself or help a friend or loved one who is suffering. The national domestic violence hotline is 800.799.SAFE (7233).

Locally, T.H. has supported the Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters).  This organization is dedicated to assisting victims and survivors of domestic violence, and their children, by turning fear into safety, helplessness into strength, and isolation into hope.

One Thing she wants You To Know:
Our mission is to help you heal and grow through a wide range of services that give you the tools you need to leave the violence, and empower you and your children for new beginnings.

What counts as abuse? ALL abuse is abuse. Understanding the pervasiveness of psychological abuse can save someone’s life. Here are the warning signs.

T.H. & Jess learn about the types of programs and support people might find at a shelter when escaping an abusive marriage.
